Overview
Magical staves carry powers of their own. They are equipment, not spells: using one never teaches a spell, never gives school experience, and never skips progression.
Each staff defines up to four powers — left-mouse tap and hold, right-mouse tap and hold. Staves come in common and legendary tiers; GALVYR is a Mythic.
Kinds of staff
| Kind | Examples | Right mouse |
|---|---|---|
| Mundane staff | the Quarterstaff | A physical block — no magic, no element |
| Common magical staves | Apprentice’s Staff, Ashwood Focus, Mender’s Crook, Warder’s Rod, Wayfarer’s Staff, Scholar’s Staff, Pilgrim’s Crook, Conduit Rod | Their own focus powers, with an Arcane left-mouse attack. They never take on an element from the wielder. |
| Legendary staves, and the Mythic GALVYR | the 18 legendary staves | Their own unique powers |
A staff’s element always comes from the staff itself — never from your strongest magic school.
Mana
Mana is for spells only. Staff powers are equipment abilities, so they cost no Mana.
