Overview
Every individual copy of an item can carry its own rarity, in six tiers from Common up to Mythic. Two swords of the same kind and material can therefore differ in rarity.
- Rarity is separate from material: a weapon’s family and material decide how it performs.
- Rarity has no effect on stats.
- It stays with the item when it is dropped, picked up or saved, and it is shown in the item’s details in your bag.
- An item that has no rarity of its own shows its kind’s usual rarity.
Castle garrison soldiers, for example, carry gear of Common to Uncommon rarity (Uncommon to Rare for a Captain) — see Castle sieges.
