Game system In development Party & social

Chat and social

Local, party and whisper chat in the lower-left corner, plus a Social panel for your party, friends, ignore list and privacy.

Chat

The chat box sits in the lower-left corner, with tabs for All, Local, Party, Guild, Whisper and System, each with an unread count. It can fade, collapse, change height and show larger text.

  • Enter opens chat; Enter again sends and returns you to the game. Esc closes it without sending and keeps your draft.
  • /P, /L and /G switch channel. /w Name message whispers a player, and /r replies to the last whisper.
  • Local chat reaches players near you in the same place (or the same dungeon instance). Party reaches only your party. Whispers respect the recipient’s privacy settings and ignore list.
  • Guilds don’t exist yet, so the Guild channel says so.
  • Chat uses plain letters, numbers and punctuation only.

System messages — experience, pickups, party and mail notices, and siege warnings — appear in the System tab. Identical messages in a row are collapsed into one line with a count.

Social

Press P to open the Social panel:

  • Party — your party, and invitations to accept or decline;
  • Friends and Ignored lists;
  • Privacy — who may whisper you, send friend requests or invite you to a party; whether you appear online; and whether your party sees you on the world map;
  • Guild — not available yet.

Right-click another player to Whisper, Add Friend, Invite to Party or Ignore them.

Player names are unique, regardless of capital letters.
