Bog Iron: dark iron-rich lumps with rust-red staining bleeding into the wet ground.
Bog Iron Ore is extracted from bog iron deposits with the Mining skill. You need Mining 10 to extract it, but you can Examine and discover it at any level.
Where it is found
Rust staining like this marks iron across the Southern Fenlands.
What a miner can tell
Iron precipitated by the fen waters — a regional iron, lower grade than mountain ore. Slightly stubborn to break.
Use
Bog iron from the fens: a regional, lower-grade iron ore. Smelting and smithing will come with the planned Smithing skill.
